Its my birthday! I just turned 29 years today and i am excited to celebrate another trip around the sun.  I made plans for my big day and ended up not doing anything about it  at all. This has been a great year. Though i didn’t achieve everything i had set out to achieve, but no worries! I am happy and grateful that the year has been good to me.

I am happy and grateful for all that i have and all that i am able to do at this point in my life.  This later years of my 20s have been my very favorite. I have been on an interesting journey of figuring out who i am and who i want to be, and why i even exist. haha.

  • My being alive and healthy today is as a result of none other than the almighty God. I’ll forever be grateful to you, God. On my special day, I wish myself happiness and great accomplishments in the coming year.
  • By the special grace of the one who created me, this new age I am will bring joy and prosperity into my life, now and forever. Thank you Lord for sparing my life

Here’s how my year was;

This year, two of my siblings were blessed with baby boys. So i have two nephews.!!Double blessings in one year!

I have seen friends start their own families, have children and i joined them in celebrating their baby showers, baby visits and weddings. It is an awesome time to be alive this year and see the people i love prosper.

“We go through life discovering the truth about who we are and determining who has earned  the right to share the personal space within our heart.” Oprah Winfrey.

I have gained and lost friends this year.  I am especially grateful for the friends and networks i made this year. I found people who inspired me, made me a better person and gave me new insights. I have traveled the world through peoples life stories and got to understand people better through my social interactions.

I learnt the importance of choosing the people i constantly relate to. The relationships we form will cause us to excel or fail. I choose to be connected to people who inspire me, bring out the best in me, are positive minded and have what i want to have or achieve. People who will expose me to levels that i have never seen, people who are soaring. These people are instrumental in my rising higher and i believe that they are destiny connectors, people God places on your path to enable you soar to greater heights.

I have done well in this sector. I think i have done more than 10 books which is quite commendable for me.  The books that touched me the most were; Left to Tell by immaculee ,The last black unicorn by Tiffany hardy, At peace in the light, Smart Money woman by Arese Ugwu,On Becoming and  A letter to my daughter by Maya Angelou.

These books inspired me because they were written by strong women. Women who overcame adversities to become who they are. I was inspired by At peace in the Light because of curiosity. I was curious to know what happens when someone dies, and where people who died go to.

I began to be money conscious this year. I learnt about the different ways  to save and invest money. I also learnt to live within my means and be comfortable with what i have.

I also learnt to say No. I just refused to spend my money in projects i did not believe in. I learnt to be vocal about my wants and stopped straining myself so as to be acceptable.  I am not where i want to be but i am slowly learning the ropes and bettering myself in this area.

I got to celebrate milestones.  This year i was honored and blessed to be able to partake in the blessings that flowed from all angles of my life. My siblings had kids,  a huge number of my girlfriends had babies this year,( its like there was a memo that i didn’t get),some moved to better houses, others traveled overseas, others got job promotions, salary increments ,others got married, some started businesses . This to me was such an incredible year. I will not be able to count all the blessings one by one as they are too much.  I believe that the more blessed my circle is, the more blessed i am. I am so proud of everyone who made it this year.

I have no big plans for this year. Just little steps and changes to enable me be a better person.

This year is the year i live.  Living, loving, travelling, working. The year i decide to be more thankful and mindful to my needs and the needs of others. I stop letting my age or society dictate what i should or should not do.  I want to live while i am still alive.

This year i learn to trust God more and let His will be done. All my cares and troubles unto Him i roll.

My gratitude goes to everyone who made me have a memorable year: those who reached out whenever i needed them, those who held me with their prayers, Those who made me laugh and shed tears of joy and those who have always wished me the best of luck. I see you. I am grateful for having you in my life. Thank you for contributing to making my life a better one.

Happy birthday to someone amazing, talented, beautiful, smart, yes that’s just it, I am celebrating myself today—happy birthday to me!

Sending love and light.
